Just for Today do not ANGER ...
Just for Today do not Anger
For 2022 I am analyzing the Precepts and how I can better understand and use them always in my life.
Just for Today do not Worry
Just for Today do not Anger
Honour your Parents, Teachers and Elders
Earn your living honestly
Show Gratitude to Ever Living Thing.
March is ANGER:
So what is ANGER?
It is a secondary emotion and the primary emotion may be caused by fear, loss or sadness. If you are dealing with with any of these emotions you may be feeling vulnerable or out of control. This could be causing you to shift your emotions to anger.
What can you do to calm ANGER?
Practice Self Reiki
Take a Time out
Check what is under your anger.
Try to address what’s under your anger.
Give yourself some safe space
Be kind to yourself
And again Practice Self Reiki.

Just for Today do not WORRY ...
The Reiki Precepts
Just for today do not worry
Just for today do not anger
Honour your parents, teachers and elders
Earn your living honestly
Show gratitude to every living thing
To Worry can be compared to rocking in a chair. It is just something to do, although a rocking chair has the benefit of relaxing you. Unfortunately worrying doesn’t.
When I am spinning with worry and anxiety I fall back on my Reiki practice. Along with self reiki I repeat the precepts. It always works for me.
Why not give it a try …
Just for Today ...
Spiritual Precepts for Reiki
Just for today do not worry
Just for today do not anger
Honour your parents, teachers and elders
Earn your living honestly
Show gratitude to every living thing
The five Reiki precepts were given to Reiki students as a set of living guidelines. The precepts guide students to learn and teach them in their daily life.
One of my goals this year to work with my understanding of the precepts and how they are teaching me daily in my life.
Starting with Just for Today empowers me to know that whatever I choose is only for a short period of time allowing me to not get overwhelmed with a commitment that I can not keep. It is just for a few minutes or a few hours or a day. It is just in the moment.
So Just for Today ….
Joy and best wishes. See you in 2022.
The best you can do for anyone is to thrive fully and be willing to explain to anyone who asks how it is that you are thriving and what it is that you’ve discovered—and then, just relax and trust that all truly is well.
Let us thrive through the remainder of 2021 and keep thriving for 2022.
Joy and best wishes for this Holiday Season.
Look forward to seeing you in 2022.
Making a Choice:
There is nothing that you can do that is worse for yourself, than to do something that you feel is not right. And so, get clear and happy about whichever choice you make.
The Journey ...
You think that the goal is to be over there, and I can’t help but think the goal is the journey over there. The goal is the fun you have along the way on your way to get over there.
This picture is from a wonderful day in September that was “Just the Journey.” And what fun we had on the Journey.
Are you enjoying the Journey and having fun along the way?
Change ...
It usually takes about 30 days to change a habit. Not because you need 30 days. You could do it in 68 seconds. The time you need is to consciously make the decision to change.
This month I am starting a daily meditation working on the study of the symbols and how I relate to them, interact with them, feel with them and how they encompass me. It will be a period of 30 days. Changes that will come up and changes that will happen are what lay ahead.
Is change in your path?
Reach for the thought that feels better ...
Don’t do anything that you don’t really want to do. Keep yourself in a place of feeling good.
Reach for the thought that feels better — and watch what happens.
This Friday Ontario is loosening the Covid restrictions so we are going to have a long awaited visit with these little ones. For me this is such a happy thought to reach for …
What are you thoughts reaching for?
A visit with family
A tea with a friend
A walk in a park
A swim in the lake
A Reiki treatment
Let your cork rise…
“The basis of your life is absolute freedom, the goal is joy, and the result of that perfect combination is motion forward, or growth. Your goal is to find objects of attention that let your cork rise.”
This past month feels like I am stuck on a treadmill just going around and around and getting no where. To say the least life has been a challenge.
In reading the above quote over and over and I come to the bright idea that all corks rise and float which is of courses no surprise to you. So, using that analogy my cork wasn’t sinking it is just moving slowly but will eventually come to the surface. In good time it will rise.
For now, I will use my mantra of the Reiki Ideals and feel my cork rise:
Just for today do not worry
Just for today do not anger
Honour your parents, teachers and elders
Make your living honestly
Show gratitude to every living thing.
Give it a try!
Connection, Trust, Hope ...
During the later part of February I became very frustrated with where I was physically, mentally and energetically. I felt like I was struggling on all fronts. Meditation on my 2021 words, (Connection, trust and hope) helped me to find the path I needed. Practicing Reiki, connecting with family and friends has helped me mentally. Physically working on my exercise plan and gentle yoga started to give me confidence that I am where I should be and healing at the rate that is needed. Connecting, trusting and being hopeful for 2021.
The basis of life is absolute freedom, the goal is joy, and the result of that perfect combination is motion forward and growth.
How are you feeling today?
Priming Your Pump
In a workshop that I attended, the speaker was asked how he dealt with writer’s block.
He used an analogy of being on a farm and using a hand crank pump to get water. When you first start to crank the pump usually there is no water coming out. You have to crank the pump a number of times and perhaps pour water in to the crank in order for the water to flow freely. This is called “priming the pump.”
How have I been Priming my Pump:
During the past month I have been stuck on a quilt that I am making. I wasn’t feeling any joy with it. The main block wasn’t coming together. So I changed my approach and I spent the week just sewing for 30 minutes each day and at the end of week the block was finished and looks amazing. The next block has taken me minutes to do. It finally made sense and I started to enjoy the creative journey I am on.
At the beginning of January I started joining on-line yoga classes and also continued with physio. Daily I have been getting out for walks with each day a little further. What a joy to start moving again with ease.
Practicing Reiki daily, reading and connecting online with other like-minded people has helped to make my daily practice so much more than just my daily practice.
